Longview

Longview

When Jaman first toured Longview, it consisted of a dog-run on one side, an obstructed ocean view on the other side–and a rundown ranch house in between. Still, the property had soul…and an impeccable Malibu pedigree.

With a nod to the home’s original owner–the world’s first female extreme surfer—Jaman reimagined the structure as a luxury surf pad, opening the home to the sea and sky and editing the grounds to feature dozens of rare specimen plantings grown from seeds collected by the young “gurfer” (girl surfer) as she toured the globe in search of big water.

The rooms were reconfigured, systems and surfaces upgraded and, by making the ocean view smaller, an unobstructed Pacific vista was revealed, featuring Catalina by day, The Queen’s Necklace by night and white water views of legendary Surfrider Beach—site of iconic beach movies from “Baywatch” to “Gidget” and “Beach Blanket Bingo”.
