Revello Drive

Revello Drive

At the bottom of the 2009 real estate market, Jaman bid against 30 competitors to obtain a rotting, vermin and squatter-infested, meth den. Score!

The 2 bedrooms, 2 bath delapitorium with a microscopic ocean view was taken down to stud, the layout reconfigured and its deck enlarged to create an open-floor-plan beach haven with spacious exterior living areas and 180-degree ocean views.

FEATURES: Three bedrooms/3½ baths; white-water-view deck with built-in seating, dining and sunning areas; walled courtyard with fountain and gas lantern; powder room with sink fabricated from an antique champagne bucket; great room with woodburning fireplace and chef-designed kitchen; owner’s suite with ocean-view deck; wood-burning fireplace, antique lighting and soaking-tub bath; club room with mini-kitchen, fountained garden with separate entrance and a pedestrian path to beach. Throughout: French oak floors, tongue-in-groove ceilings, interior barn doors and antique lavatory cabinets with silver-plated hardware.

BEFORE AND AFTER

Revello was an experiment in value engineering. Jaman relied on taste over budget to create special moments with items such as gas-lanterns, a salvaged Czechoslovakian crystal chandelier and a powder room sink made from a champagne bucket.
