The Sandcastle
A 1940’s ocean front surf shack measuring 900 sq. ft was taken down to stud and enlarged to create a 3,000 sq. ft. Capri-style mini-villa with views from Palos Verdes to the Point Dume bluffs. With land being the ultimate luxury at the beach, even a 15’ X 50’ weed-covered parking berm was repurposed, becoming a tiny, but brilliantly perfumed, orange grove.

BEFORE AND AFTER
Before beginning construction on ancient Native American land, Jaman reached out to the chief of the local Chumash tribe who performed a ritual blessing. After construction of The Sandcastle was complete, Jaman celebrated with investors, friends and family with the construction of a different kind of sandcastle (12 ft. high by 20 ft. long). By morning, it was gone…along with the home which sold that same night!
