Marcy Carsey Buys Malibu Beachfront

At the exact same time she sold her sprawling compound above Malibu’s Paradise Cove for $60 million to music world power-player and occasional movie producer Jimmy Iovine (“8 Mile”), all-but-retired uber-producer Marcy Carsey (“The Cosby Show,” “Roseanne,” “That ’70s Show”) covertly plunked down $10.65 million for a beachfront house less than a mile away. Full disclosure: The property was purchased via blind trust, but real estate yenta Yolanda Yakketyyak says she’ll swear it on the pope’s robes the buyer of the house in question is Miz Carsey.
Property records and listing details we squeezed out of the Internet show the residence was rebuilt and sold by screenwriter Janus Cercone (“Leap of Faith”) and producer Michael Manheim (“Roe vs. Wade”), who have built or renovated and sold a number pricey properties to a bevy of Hollywood luminaries including Fran Drescher, Matt Groening and Conan O’Brien. The two-story house sits behind a gated courtyard on a private road, and offers three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and an open plan living-dining-kitchen space where a full wall of glass slips into the main walls to seamlessly link the interior living areas with a large deck cantilevered over the sand. There’s also, per listing details, a petite media lounge, a 500-bottle wine cellar, multiple fireplaces, an outdoor kitchen and coastline views from Palos Verdes to Point Dume.
Miz Carsey maintains a notably robust property portfolio that, in addition to the recently acquired beachfront pad, includes two additional homes in Malibu, one a nearly five-acre oceanfront compound where long-ago-divorced Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt were married back in 2000. Property records show Miz Carsey also owns several multimillion-dollar residences in L.A. — a house in Westwood, a condo in Bel Air and two luxury homes in Brentwood — as well as a 3,553-square-foot condo in Park City, Utah and an undeveloped 10-acre residential parcel nearby.
